Q:What is a comprehensive high school? What diploma do students receive upon graduation?

A:Comprehensive high schools represent an innovative educational model that integrates standard academic curricula with diverse pathways for further education. Shanghai Chengcai Comprehensive High School is a legitimate private specialty high school approved by the Shanghai municipal education authority and managed by the Pudong New Area Education Bureau. It was designated as a comprehensive high school pilot program in 2025. Upon enrollment, all students are registered under the standard high school system and their records are filed via the Open University Affiliated High School electronic student registry. Graduation certificates are nationally recognized and verifiable through the CHSI website. Students follow the regular high school curriculum for three years; upon meeting academic requirements, they receive a high school diploma and are eligible to participate in the National College Entrance Examination (Gaokao).

Q:What are the school pathways for advancement? How to choose the most suitable path for your child?

A:The school breaks away from the traditional single-track college entrance model, establishing a three-dimensional advancement system encompassing the Gaokao, vocational colleges, and international study abroad. With six distinct program types, we cater to students of varying academic foundations, interests, and career plans: 1. **Regular College Entrance Exam Program**: Follows the standard high school curriculum, preparing students for Shanghai's Spring and Autumn College Entrance Exams. Ideal for those aiming for full-time undergraduate admission. 2. **Art & Sports Entrance Exam Program**: Offers seven specialized tracks—Fine Arts, Music, Broadcasting & Hosting, Film & TV Acting, Dance, Directing, and Athletics. Art and sports talented students may qualify for preferential admission policies with reduced score requirements. 3. **3 + 3 Associate Degree Program**: After three years of regular high school studies, students are guaranteed admission to a full-time associate degree program, ensuring a smooth transition with reduced academic pressure. 4. **Vocational Continuity Program**: Utilizes a "2 + 3" or "2 + 4" integrated training model, allowing direct entry into partner institutions without taking the national college entrance exam. 5. **Japan & Korea Study Abroad Program**: Partners with top universities in Japan and South Korea, offering an all-inclusive pathway featuring language intensification, academic bridging, and comprehensive study abroad support services. Students can flexibly switch between these four pathways as needed. We work closely with families to assess each student's strengths and goals, helping design the most suitable advancement plan.

Q:My child's high school entrance exam results were disappointing. Is there still a chance to attend university?

A:Absolutely. Shanghai Chengcai Comprehensive High School is designed for students who did not achieve their desired Zhongkao scores and were unable to enter a public high school, providing them with a pathway back to mainstream higher education. Our school offers Gaokao classes with a curriculum aligned to Shanghai's public high schools, featuring small class sizes. Students can take the national unified college entrance examination and receive treatment equal to that of regular high school graduates. Over the past three years, our undergraduate admission rate has been consistently high, truly delivering "low entry, high output; high entry, excellent output." For students with weaker academic foundations, you can also choose the 3 + 3 Associate Degree program, guaranteeing admission to full-time accredited junior colleges. Our Vocational-Education Integrated Program allows students to obtain associate or bachelor's degrees without taking the national unified college entrance exam, offering a clear and secure pathway to further education.
